My tale fell on deaf ears
The next morning Robert was examined by the professor and his entourage; they mentioned amongst themselves that Robert looked as though he had cerebal palsy and the senior Registrar pointed to the way Rob's foot now turned inwards. I told them how he was sitting up before our holiday but they didn't believe me.
Tests Results were all negative
All the blood tests done that day came back normal with the exception of the spinal fluid which had a very slightly raised lactate level. The fact that the doctor took three goes at getting the sample was not mentioned and later I found out that stress can cause this to be slightly elevated! An MRI scan was arranged and I also spoke to the dietians who advised me to add Polycal into Rob's milk. There was no other help regarding diet at this time.
Brain Damage The scan results were at first reported as normal then there seemed to be a problem with the basal ganglia area. The neurologist did not seem very confident at first but gradually confirmed that this part of the brain showed some abnormal changes on the scan.
